Why It Matters

The tool streamlines documentation workflows and enforces consistent numbering logic across projects, saving time and reducing errors when labeling repetitive elements. By leveraging existing view filters and parameters, firms can quickly implement customized numbering schemes without manual edits.

Summary

Autodesk Revit 2027 introduces a built-in Numbering tool that automates sequential labeling of elements like rooms, doors, and curtain panels, reducing tedious manual work. The demo uses a solar panel curtain panel family in the Snowden Towers project: the presenter creates a numbering template, defines scope via Revit display filters (targeting curtain panels and a specific family name), and assigns numbers to the Mark parameter. Tags are optionally applied to visualize numbers in the view, and the tool assigns sequential values immediately after applying the rule. The presenter notes grouping (model groups) can affect the apparent numbering order but the basic sequential setup requires only a template, scope filter, and target parameter.
