Ethereum’s Fusaka upgrade was activated on the Sepolia testnet Tuesday as a preparatory step ahead of a planned mainnet launch in early December. Fusaka is the second stage of a three-step scaling and performance roadmap, following Holesky trials, and its Sepolia deployment lets developers and node operators validate changes across the network stack. If validated, the upgrade is expected to improve throughput and resource efficiency—potentially lowering gas costs and enabling smoother dApp performance—while still leaving final deployment risks to be addressed before mainnet activation.
