Adding Nangong Yu completes the Angels of Delusion roster, unlocking faction bonuses and reshaping the meta for competitive and casual players. The release also reinforces HoYoVerse's live‑service model by driving banner engagement ahead of the patch.
The introduction of Nangong Yu in Zenless Zone Zero’s 2.7 patch marks a strategic expansion of the game’s character ecosystem. As an Ether‑damage Agent equipped with stun capabilities, Yu not only diversifies combat options but also synergizes with Aria and Sunna to activate the Angels of Delusion faction bonus. This trio dynamic encourages players to experiment with team compositions, potentially shifting the prevailing meta and prompting a reevaluation of optimal damage rotation and crowd‑control strategies.
From a business perspective, HoYoVerse leverages the new character to sustain momentum in its banner-driven monetization model. By staggering the availability of Sunna, Aria, and now Nangong Yu across consecutive windows, the company creates a continuous incentive loop for players to invest in gacha pulls. The timing aligns with the March 24 patch launch, ensuring that the freshest content coincides with heightened player spending, a pattern observed in other live‑service titles seeking to maximize revenue while keeping the community engaged.
Beyond the immediate game ecosystem, the cross‑platform release of Zenless Zone Zero—spanning PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile—positions it competitively against other action‑RPGs that rely on single‑platform ecosystems. The addition of a high‑profile character like Nangong Yu can attract new users from rival franchises, especially those drawn to idol‑themed narratives and robust character collections. In an industry where content updates are pivotal for retention, this rollout exemplifies how timely character introductions can bolster both player satisfaction and long‑term financial performance.
HoYoVerse confirmed that yes, the third member of the in-game idol group Angels of Delusion Nangong Yu will be a playable character when Zenless Zone Zero version 2.7 appears. This also comes as the in-game cutscene from 2.6 with yet another track by the group from a major moment in the story appeared online and a short video that further shared some details about the unit appeared on the official YouTube channel for the game.
Here’s the full Nangong Yu YouTube Short. Thanks to the icons that appear there, we know two things about her moveset. One is that she will be an Agent who deals Ether damage in the game. (Her groupmate Aria does too.) The other is that she will be a Stun-type character designed to daze enemies. Given the nature of the group and the fact that we get bonuses from using three characters of the same faction at once, she’ll likely support Aria and Sunna’s movesets.

We can actually get the first playable Angels of Delusion character in-game now. The Sunna banner is live until March 4, 2026. After that, the Aria banner will run between March 4-23, 2026.
Zenless Zone Zero is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and we’ll see Nangong Yu as a playable Angels of Delusion character after the 2.7 patch launches on March 24, 2026.
