The bug halts progression for all players, affecting retention and the game's reputation until a developer fix arrives.
*NORSE Oath of Blood* launched to praise for its tactical combat and Norse‑mythic setting, yet the Iron Will quest has become a stumbling block for its community. The glitch appears in the quest's second segment when several enemy units inexplicably become allies, preventing players from delivering the final blow. Because the mission is a gateway to later content, the issue not only frustrates individual gamers but also risks broader churn, especially in a genre where narrative momentum is crucial.
While Tripwire Studios works on an official fix, the player base has compiled several effective workarounds. The quickest method—saving and reloading—leverages the game's state reset to clear the errant AI flag. A more aggressive tactic involves eliminating every NPC in the area, then reloading from a fresh save, though this sacrifices immersion and resources. The most elegant solution discovered involves cycling through all party members, initiating a new turn, and then saving; upon reload, combat ends and the quest proceeds. Each approach balances convenience against potential loss of progress, offering players a choice based on their playstyle.
The Iron Will bug underscores the importance of rigorous QA for live‑service titles, where a single quest can impact the entire player journey. An upcoming patch is expected to address the AI allegiance error, restoring the intended flow and reinforcing confidence in the developer's support. Until then, community‑sourced fixes demonstrate the resilience of the gaming ecosystem, where forums and guides become vital resources for navigating unforeseen technical hurdles.

NORSE Oath of Blood has some pesky bugs, and one of the most frustrating ones gets triggered during the Iron Will quest.
As reported in the Steam forums, the quest isn't working for anyone as intended. If you can't complete the quest, you won't be able to proceed further with the game. While an official fix is yet to be released, the community has come up with some ways to solve the problem at hand.
The bug in discussion seems to happen in the second part of the Iron Will quest. The first fight of the quest works as intended. Then, some of the enemy units become friendly, and this prevents you from killing them. Unless you kill them, you can't proceed with completing the mission.
Here are a few solutions that can potentially work. The exact fix appears to differ, so try them all until you find something that works out for you.

Usually, saving the game and reloading it should fix most bugs in the game. While you could lost bit of progress, the bug should be fixed. This is the easiest way to fix any bug, including the one that happens in Iron Will.
You can kill everyone at the location, but you'll need to create a new save file when you're by the bugged NPCs. Reload the save, and you'll go past the bugged phase. However, I don't like killing every NPC to proceed.
There's another method that you can try. Go to the bridge on the same side where the first fight takes place. Gather your entire group, and start a new turn. Switch through all the characters by pressing the Tab button, and then save the game. Reload this save, and you'll find that you're out of combat. You can proceed to begin the second fight and complete the quest as intended.
I am quite positive that the last solution should work and fix the Iron Will bug. However, a fix should be dropped soon by the developers, which will make it easier for all to complete the quest.
