District Metals Corp. has signed a contract with Expert Geophysics Surveys to conduct a helicopter‑borne Mobile Magnetotellurics (MobileMT) survey over its Alum Shale licences in north‑central Sweden. The program will fly roughly 2,253 line kilometres at 400‑metre spacing with 4,000‑metre tie lines, targeting the shallowest, thickest conductive zones that host graphite and sulphides. Data collection is slated for late June or early July 2026, pending permits, and will be merged with existing geological and geochemical datasets. The release also notes the departure of Vice‑President Jeremy Veszi and a shift to a team‑based advisory model.
District Metals’ latest airborne geophysical effort underscores the growing reliance on Mobile Magnetotellurics (MobileMT) to unravel complex, conductive targets in sedimentary basins. By lofting a helicopter‑mounted system over the Alum Shale formation, the company can map subsurface graphite‑rich and sulphide‑laden layers that act as natural super‑conductors. This high‑resolution approach complements traditional drilling, offering a cost‑effective way to prioritize zones with the highest mineralisation potential while reducing exploration risk.
The upcoming 2,253‑kilometre flight grid, spaced at 400 metres with 4,000‑metre tie lines, will feed into District’s existing data stack of geology, geochemistry and historic geophysics. Integration of the new MobileMT dataset is expected to refine the three‑dimensional model of the Viken property, where previous surveys already linked large conductive anomalies to the world’s largest undeveloped uranium resource and accompanying vanadium, molybdenum and copper deposits. By confirming the shallowest, thickest conductive horizons, the survey could direct future drill campaigns toward high‑grade zones, accelerating the path from discovery to resource definition.
Strategically, the contract arrives alongside a leadership transition: Vice‑President Jeremy Veszi’s exit and the adoption of a team‑based advisory framework. This shift aims to leverage external expertise while maintaining internal focus on disciplined technical work. For investors, the combination of advanced airborne surveying and a streamlined governance model signals a commitment to capital efficiency and value creation in the rapidly evolving market for uranium and other critical minerals.
