By expanding into Quito and making European routes year‑round, Air Canada taps new revenue streams and strengthens its competitive edge in both the Latin American and trans‑Atlantic segments.
Air Canada announced a major expansion of its 2026‑27 winter schedule, adding a new long‑haul destination and converting several seasonal routes to year‑round service.
The carrier will launch three‑times‑weekly flights from Montreal and weekly service from Toronto to Quito, Ecuador, operating the Boeing 787‑A Dreamliner from December 4, 2026 to March 27, 2027. Seasonal flights to Manchester and Copenhagen will become permanent, served by Airbus A321 XLRs beginning October 25 and 27, respectively. Calgary will also gain nonstop connections to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, further deepening its Mexican footprint.
Tickets for all new routes are already on sale, and the airline highlighted the Dreamliner’s range and fuel efficiency as key to the Quito service, while the A321 XLR’s extended reach enables year‑round trans‑Atlantic flights without sacrificing capacity.
The additions broaden Air Canada’s network into high‑growth Latin American markets and solidify its trans‑Atlantic presence, positioning the airline to capture leisure and business demand ahead of the 2026‑27 travel surge.
