The project adds significant narrow-body MRO and component-repair capacity in Dubai, strengthening regional maintenance capability, reducing turnaround times for carriers, and intensifying competition among MRO providers. It also signals growing investment and certification-driven expansion in the Middle East aviation services market.
Sky Techniques, a Ukraine-origin MRO established in the Middle East since 2015, has acquired a 12,200 sq m plot at Dubai World Central to build a hangar capable of housing four narrow-body aircraft (B737/A320) with an adjacent apron for three additional jets. The company is pursuing FAA approval and aims to serve customers across the Middle East and Far East. It has formed a joint venture with US-founded ATS (Aerospace Technical Services), a components repair specialist, to create a one-stop facility combining airframe maintenance and component repair. The new complex is targeted to be operational within 18 months.
