Ararat Wind Farm is a 240MW renewable wind energy project located on rural land about 80km northwest of Melbourne and between 9km–17km northeast of Ararat in Victoria, Australia. Since commencing operations in April 2017, it has been one of Australia’s larger wind farms by generation output. The site uses 75 GE turbines with a tip height of 135m and rotor diameter of 103m, connected by extensive internal roads and transmission lines, and can power around 120,000 Victorian homes. The project is co-owned by Partners Group and OPTrust, contributing to clean electricity and supporting the regional economy.
