About Dex

Dex is a federated OpenID Connect provider that sits in front of LDAP, SAML, GitHub, Google and other identity sources, exposing them as standard OIDC. It functions as a single Go binary that can run alongside Kubernetes and other infrastructure, providing a unified authentication layer without requiring apps to change. Dex is designed for Kubernetes environments, offering lightweight deployment, official Helm charts, and pluggable storage while delegating user state to upstream providers. It is a CNCF Sandbox project developed under Linux Foundation governance, focusing on interoperability and widespread OIDC compatibility.
