About Early Opportunities

Early Opportunities is an organization focused on improving outcomes for young children by supporting and advising philanthropy related to early childhood, families, and the communities that help them thrive. It runs the Early Opportunities Initiative (launched in 2022) to raise awareness about nurturing care and the effects of emergencies—including conflict and climate change—on children and families. The Early Opportunities Fund provides microgrants addressing environmental issues and/or climate change through early childhood, as well as microgrants for organizations supporting children in conflict zones. The site also publishes “Speaking of Children,” a blog series highlighting issues facing young children and families and solutions making a difference.
