About European Marine Energy Centre

EMEC is the European Marine Energy Centre, a testing and development hub for marine energy technologies. It operates tidal and wave energy test sites across the Orkney Islands, including Stromness and Eday, to support developers and researchers in advancing offshore renewable energy. Established in 2003, EMEC provides live data access, facilities, and advisory services to accelerate commercialization of marine energy projects. The centre collaborates with global industry players and hosts a range of testing facilities and demonstrations in northern Scotland.
