About Southern California Public Power Authority
SCPPA is a California-based Joint Powers Authority established in 1980 to coordinate planning, financing, construction, and operation of transmission and generation projects. It is comprised of eleven municipal utilities and one irrigation district, collectively serving over 5 million residents across 9,000 square miles and supplying about 16% of California's power. The organization focuses on joint procurement and financing of projects, value-added services, and collaborative advocacy for its Members. SCPPA operates across a broad energy portfolio including biomass, fossil/nuclear, geothermal, hydro, landfill gas, natural gas, solar, wind, and transmission projects, along with member programs such as energy efficiency and transportation electrification.
