About VITA

VITA is a nonprofit organization that develops and promotes open standards for critical embedded computing systems. It coordinates standards such as VMEbus, PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC), VXS, VPX, VNX, and FMC to enable interoperability across industries including defense, aerospace, medical imaging, and industrial automation. Since 1984, VITA has focused on real-time, modular embedded architectures and ANSI-based standardization, supported by a global community of vendors and users. The organization also emphasizes patent disclosure practices and open technology collaboration.
