Deutschland Ticket’s CO2 Savings Overpriced by 20‑fold
For €3bn per year from state and federal budgets, this would be €1,200 per ton of CO2 saved, or 20x the current EU-ETS carbon price. From 2026, full integration of motor fuels into Germany's national ETS scheme should absorb any CO2 savings. Not the benefits I'd advertise.
