One of my athletes is returning to sport after injury and had a very vulnerable moment with me today. He knows his body is healed but he doesn’t know if he trusts it yet. Returning from injury doesn’t just require your body to heal. It requires rebuilding confidence in your body’s ability to respond, adapt, repair, to handle discomfort again. The first runs back will feel different. It’s not a bad thing.
