Running for LGBTQ+ Health: Leading Fenway’s Strides Event
The Gay Agenda is… universal healthcare, LGBTQ+ rights, AND raising money for lifesaving care while wearing sneakers. 🌈 This year, I’m proud to lead a Strides for Action team called THE GAY AGENDA (lol) in support of the incredible work of Fenway Health ! And because the gays can never simply attend an event… I’ll also be emceeing this year’s walk. Which means you can donate to a great cause AND hear me say inspirational things into a microphone before 10am. Strides for Action builds on the legacy of AIDS Walk Boston—a movement that reshaped HIV/AIDS funding, treatment, and awareness. For 40 years, this community has shown up for one another through the AIDS crisis, through political backlash, through grief, stigma, activism, and joy. That legacy matters. Especially now. Fenway Health provides affirming LGBTQIA+ healthcare, HIV prevention and treatment, mental health services, research, advocacy, and care for people who too often get left behind by the healthcare system.
