Here’s your friendly reminder that retirement is NOT just a math problem - it’s an identity obstacle course. I met with the loveliest couple this afternoon. They save 94% of their income, have close to $5M invested, and spend less than $5k/month - but still don’t feel like they can retire. On paper, these folks could massively upgrade their lifestyle and never have to work another day. But no amount of math can grant your nervous system permission to step away from its source of purpose.
