Major food and beverage manufacturers announced a wave of openings, expansions and closures in April 2026. Mars Snacking will open a North America hub in Chicago’s Fulton Market with capacity for more than 1,000 associates and 600 new jobs, while Mars completed a C$100 million modernization push in Ontario, bringing its Canadian investment since 2015 to nearly C$400 million. Campbell Soup will close its Cape Cod chip plant in Hyannis in April and shift production to other sites as it consolidates its snack network, while Chabani (Chobani) unveiled a $567 million expansion in western Michigan adding about 200,000 sq ft and roughly 340 jobs. Additional moves include Bell Group’s $200 million Brookings, S.D. plant expansion to double capacity and milk sourcing, Makers Pride winding down two contract-manufacturing sites, and Rise Baking adding about 115,000 sq ft in Pleasant View, Utah to boost pie and baked-goods output.
