Why It Matters

By increasing female participation and securing formal recognition for local trails, Cath’s efforts strengthen community recreation, preserve riding routes for future use, and support sustainable outdoor tourism in North Wales.

Summary

Cath, a British Cycling member for over a decade, left teaching in 2021 to found Ride High MTB with the goal of boosting women’s confidence and participation in off‑road biking. She coaches riders from “passenger to pilot,” emphasizing skill, control and the joy of being outdoors. Cath also helped form Clwb Beicio Eryri North Wales, working with local riders and landowners to legitimize and protect two-decade‑old mountain bike trails. Her work blends grassroots advocacy, trail stewardship and community-focused coaching.
