Power Consumption Grows Marginally by 1.86% to 132.99 Billion Units in February

India's power consumption rose 1.86% in February to 132.99 billion units, driven by milder temperatures that reduced heating appliance use. Peak demand increased slightly to 243.15 GW, still below the all‑time high of 250 GW recorded in May 2024. The Indian Meteorological Department noted February’s temperatures were among the warmest since 1901, with minimal rainfall. Experts forecast subdued demand in March and steadier growth from April onward.
