RAM confirmed the revival of the Dakota midsize pickup, slated for a 2027 debut and 2028 model‑year launch. The new body‑on‑frame truck will sit below the 1500, targeting a $40,000 starting price and offering roughly 2,200 lb payload and 7,700 lb towing capacity. Powertrain options include a turbocharged four‑cylinder, a V‑6, and possible hybrid variants, while a full battery‑electric version is not expected initially. Production will be at Stellantis’ retooled Belvidere plant in Illinois, bringing back jobs and expanding RAM’s North American footprint.
