This Historic Steam Train Has Been Taking Travelers to the Grand Canyon for 125 Years—And It Just Added More Dates
The Grand Canyon Railway, operating since 1901, celebrates its 125th anniversary by expanding steam‑locomotive service. From March through October, the vintage steam train runs the first Saturday of each month plus an extra special day, offering a 65‑mile round‑trip from Williams to the South Rim. Xanterra Travel Collection also introduced a new onboard program with period artifacts and updated interior graphics to enhance the historic experience.
