The fund deepens Info Edge’s venture ecosystem, enabling continued support for scaling startups and attracting institutional capital to India’s growth‑stage market.
India’s venture capital landscape is maturing, with investors increasingly seeking opportunities beyond seed and Series A rounds. Info Edge, a pioneer in early‑stage funding, is responding to this shift by launching B8 Fund‑I, a dedicated growth‑stage vehicle. The move signals confidence in the pipeline of Indian tech firms that have graduated from initial funding and now require larger capital infusions to scale operations, expand market reach, and solidify competitive advantages.
B8 Fund‑I, registered as a Category II alternative investment fund, starts with a Rs 250 crore commitment and is structured for an eight‑year horizon. While the initial corpus is internal, the fund is open to external sponsors, potentially pushing total assets under management well beyond the baseline. Managed in partnership with Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek, the vehicle leverages global expertise and co‑investment networks, aligning with Info Edge’s broader strategy to institutionalise its startup investing platform and diversify its capital sources.
For portfolio companies, the new fund offers a critical bridge from early‑stage financing to growth capital, reducing reliance on foreign investors and fostering a more robust domestic ecosystem. Analysts anticipate that B8 Fund‑I will accelerate scaling for firms like Gnani AI, Shiprocket, and emerging AI‑led startups, while also attracting other institutional players to India’s growth‑stage market. As Info Edge’s operating revenue climbs to Rs 819 crore and net profit rises 10%, the fund underscores the company’s commitment to capitalising on the country’s expanding digital economy.
Info Edge announced the launch of B8 Fund-I, a Rs 250 crore growth-stage investment fund targeting tech-enabled companies in India. The fund, registered as a Category II AIF, may raise additional capital from external sponsors and will have an eight-year tenure.
