Summary

Greg and Andy Shaka are launching the first public online session of their "Stoic Heart" workshop on Saturday, April 18 at noon Central Time. After a decade of intimate, in‑person trainings and presentations at events like Stoicon, they are now offering a 2½‑hour virtual experience aimed at a broader audience.

The workshop centers on three Stoic shifts that help participants pause, reframe assumptions, and cultivate trust, thereby de‑escalating conflict and fostering genuine connection. It is marketed to married couples, singles, professionals, and anyone seeking deeper relational skills, with tools ranging from cognitive frameworks to emotional practices.

Drawing on their 15‑year marriage, the hosts illustrate how Stoic principles guided them through high‑conflict moments, noting their ‘type‑A, thymotic’ personalities as a test case. They emphasize that while relationships are external, individuals can control their responses, a point echoed by audience feedback from previous Stoic Week videos.

By translating ancient philosophy into actionable exercises, the Stoic Heart workshop promises to improve personal well‑being and workplace dynamics, meeting a growing demand for relationship‑focused self‑development. Ongoing monthly sessions and a dedicated Substack suggest the program could become a staple in the niche market of philosophy‑based coaching.

Coming up on Saturday, April 18 at Noon Central Time, Andi and I are offering our first workshop with the new Stoic Heart platform. This workshop will focus on common problems that arise within relationships, and three Stoic practices that are particularly helpful for dealing with them, addressing reactive conflicts, and (building or rebuilding real connection with one another. It's designed for anyone who would like to better understand and improve their relationships by drawing upon the resources of Stoic philosophy, principles, and practice.
Participants enrolled in the workshop will be provided with useful handouts and worksheets they can then apply to their relationships. These are designed to help them:
identify conflict triggers and retrain first impulses and immediate responses in real time
learn to navigate tense conversations with greater steadiness and precision
reduce resentment, stop repetitive conflict loops, and respond from a place of harmony rather than frustration
We help people navigate the complexities of modern relationships using the timeless principles of Stoic philosophy. This practice works. We’ve tested it. We trust it. We live it. We’ve been married for fifteen years, and we know how important it is to work through life’s challenges together. We understand the pain of feeling disconnected from your partner — and the reward of building a connection that truly lasts. With The Stoic Heart®, we take what we’ve learned, practiced, and built, and we teach those same skills to others.
