The findings underscore accelerating cloud migration and heightened security spend, but also reveal persistent breach risks and integration barriers that could shape vendor strategies and enterprise investment priorities in the coming years.

Summary

AWS’s latest research shows that more than nine in ten companies worldwide plan to raise overall IT spending (93%), cloud spending (97%) and cybersecurity budgets (90%). While 56% of respondents view public cloud as more secure and 81% believe it surpasses internal capabilities, 59% of applications are already cloud‑based and that share is expected to climb to 75% within a year. However, 80% of firms reported at least one data breach in the past year, affecting both on‑prem and cloud environments, highlighting operational risk over platform security. Adoption hurdles remain, with 38% citing legacy integration challenges, and cost, digital sovereignty and talent shortages also weighing on decisions.
