Why It Matters

Agentic commerce could dramatically reduce friction in e-commerce, shifting value to AI platforms that control discovery and product recommendations, with big implications for retailers, ad targeting and device makers who embed these agents. Widespread device integration could accelerate adoption and concentrate consumer data and commerce flows in a few platform providers.

Summary

A new model called "agentic commerce" promises to shift online shopping from search-driven discovery to AI-driven matchmaking, where autonomous agents pre-select products tailored to users before they even look. The video spotlights startup Glance, which uses visual dialogue and selfie-based analysis to recommend outfits—matching style, budget and calendar events—and provides buy links and in-app chat for adjustments. Glance is embedded across devices like Samsung and Motorola and aims to extend beyond fashion to travel, home goods and cars, streamlining a full shopping day into minutes. The presenter discloses a paid partnership and invites viewers to try Glance for free.

Original Description

#Ad You’re going to be hearing about this AI trend a lot soon: agentic commerce.
Basically, instead of searching through endless websites trying to figure out what to buy, AI agents start doing the discovery work for you before you even search so you’re matched to the right products with less work.
One leader in the agentic commerce space is called @glanceinspires and I used it to match me with new clothing pieces based on my style, hair color, skin tone, body shape, even the weather.
But this is way bigger than just fashion. I can see this being used for travel, home decor, cars, tech… basically all of e-commerce is going to be shifting in this direction.
And I’m all about using AI to make everyday tasks like shopping easier.
