No‑Compression Breast CT Approved, Yet Still Rare
Pain that comes from mammography has been a common challenge in screening. But what if a device can change that experience? Here is a no-compression breast CT. As far as I know, no-compression dedicated breast CTs like the Koning Vera exist and are approved for clinical use, but it remains a relatively uncommon modality worldwide compared with standard mammography. Koning Vera has obtained regulatory approvals, including FDA PMA for diagnostic use, and there are specific billing codes for breast CT in the US, which can facilitate clinical adoption; however, its use is currently concentrated in specialized centers and research settings rather than wide routine screening.
