Finance Teams Overloaded: AI Turns Tasks Into Workflows
spent the day at fintech week and left with the same feeling i keep having lately: finance teams are getting pulled into everything. banking, payments, compliance, treasury, invoicing, reconciliation, data movement, investor conversations, customer contracts, and now ai workflows sitting on top of all of it. a few highlights from the day: @SiliconVlyBank has real startup dna. a lot of banks sell you an account. the best startup banks help you navigate the messy middle - intros, venture debt, founder connections, events, and the random fire drills that happen when you’re building. compliance is becoming a product problem. the best fintech teams are not treating compliance as a checkbox at the end. they are building it into the operating system from day one. ai in finance is moving from “summarize this” to “go do the workflow.” contracts, invoices, payment routing, reconciliation, reporting, alerts, internal approvals - these are not side quests. they are the work. i also got to show people what we are building at justpaid and loopfour. it was fun watching finance and banking people immediately understand the problem. nobody wants more manual work. they want clean data, better workflows, fewer dropped balls, and systems that actually talk to each other. that is where fintech is going.
