Ireland Resilient Agriculture Landscape - Q&A Webinar - April 2026

The webinar introduced the EIT Food Irish Resilient Agriculture landscape, part of a broader EU effort to scale regenerative farming. The call for proposals was opened last month, with applications due 25 May 2026, aiming to launch the programme later in the year. The programme targets over 1,000 farmers and 50‑80,000 hectares across arable and livestock sectors, building on existing Nevada 360 and Poland landscapes. Funding of €1.65 million is allocated, but EIT Food expects significant co‑investment from corporate off‑takers, with a goal of three corporate partners per scheme operator. Speakers emphasized the need for scheme operators to bridge corporate‑farmer relationships and deliver training, transition plans, and MRV. “Both livestock and arable farms must be addressed,” the presenter said, underscoring the open‑ended integration requirement. The MRV harmonisation work package will align data from multiple operators, leveraging Ireland’s Agnav system. Successful consortia will create a replicable model for scaling regenerative agriculture across Europe, offering corporations measurable sustainability metrics while delivering ecological benefits. The initiative could reshape funding structures, encourage public‑private partnerships, and accelerate Ireland’s transition to climate‑smart farming.
