The California wealth tax as currently written would be really bad for the state and its innovation economy. That said, even if it passes I'm not going anywhere. California has helped me create more wealth than I could imagine growing up on food stamps. More importantly, there's simply no better place in the world to help build a better future. This place gives you a magical multiple on your impact. Unless that changes, I'll remain a very happy Californian. In the meantime, I'll work to help reshape the tax proposal to ensure it doesn't hurt startup founders, by making sure it reflects their reality (often no real access to liquid wealth, super voting isn't the same as super ownership, etc).
