Teaching LLMs Physics Simulations Boosts Real-World Reasoning
I included this in my newsletter AI Lab this week. It's a brilliant idea and an exciting new way to improve the physical reasoning of LLMs. [From my dispatch...] AI models’ knowledge of the physical world is typically limited by the fact that they learn only by reading text. The CMU team (@mihirp98 et al) show how models can be taught physical reasoning by observing and trying to predict the behavior of physics simulations. Giving AI a better understanding of the physical world will be crucial if robots are to venture into complex, unfamiliar settings. It might also help tools like smart glasses answer questions that involve physical reasoning.
The Real AI Race: Affordable Intelligence for Everyone
perhaps the real AI race should be figuring out how to make advanced intelligence cheap enough for everyone to use (yes i just looked at my Claude Code bill)
Seeking Practical Tips to Run 754B Model Locally
does anyone have advice for how to run a 754b parameter model at home? i am quite serious.

OpenClaw Shows How LLMs Could Power OS Debugging
A feature of @openclaw that is a bit under-appreciated in my view is how insanely useful it is as an IT problem trouble shooter. It's fascinating, for example, to watch the agent debug issues involving new drivers and hardware on...
New Creation Outshines Dancing Humanoids From Same Pioneers
Absolutely incredible work. This is a lot more impressive than dancing humanoids (and it's from the folks that pioneered the dancing humanoid).

AI Needs Companionship to Avoid Frankenstein‑Style Rebellion
I recently read Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, which often comes to mind in discussions about existential AI risks. The moral of the story, as far as i can tell, is that I’ll need to build my @openclaw a girlfriend or it...

AI Aids Decisions, but Risks Hallucinations and Over-Reliance
Even if Claude doesn't generate targets within Maven, it helps humans make key decisions, which raises important questions about hallucinations, over-reliance on AI, and user training. https://t.co/wt8e0ESSS4 https://t.co/6JkeeMdFKU
