Aven’s investments aim to position it as a commerce and AI-enabled hub for hoteliers at a moment of accelerating adoption, which could reshape booking, payments and personalized guest experiences; successful execution will affect hotel distribution economics and digital competitiveness.
Teresa Mackintosh, CEO of newly rebranded Aven Hospitality (formerly Saber Hospitality), outlined a short-term, adaptive strategy after joining following TPG’s acquisition. With fresh private-equity backing, Aven is prioritizing platform modernization—especially its booking engine, payments and commerce capabilities—to prepare for rapid AI-driven shifts in travel demand and guest behavior. Mackintosh emphasized a fast, iterative 3–6 month planning horizon, focused on catching up past underinvestment and leaping into the next wave of technological advancement. She also stressed balancing the needs of hotel customers, employees and investors as the company scales.
