New UPS Labels Supplant the Need for Scans
UPS announced that its entire U.S. delivery fleet, sorting facilities and over 5,500 UPS Store locations now use RFID‑enabled shipping labels, eliminating the need for manual barcode scans. The RFID tags automatically confirm pickup and provide continuous, real‑time visibility of a package’s journey through the network. By capturing data at every touchpoint, UPS can respond faster to disruptions such as weather events and give e‑commerce sellers more reliable proof of delivery. The rollout positions UPS as the first major carrier to offer scan‑free tracking across its domestic network.
