Coca-Cola System to Invest $1bn in South Africa by 2030
Coca‑Cola’s South African system will invest roughly $1 billion (ZAR 17.6 billion) by 2030, targeting expanded production capacity, stronger distribution and innovation across its value chain. A recent impact study showed the system generated about ZAR 51.2 billion in economic activity in 2024 and supported more than 87,000 jobs, including 7,822 direct positions. Local procurement reached ZAR 25.6 billion, spanning sugar, packaging, transport and marketing. The investment aligns with a $25 million water‑stewardship program and follows Coca‑Cola HBC’s acquisition of a majority stake in Coca‑Cola Beverages Africa.
