Hospitality researchers have identified a subtle but powerful shift in sustainability messaging: moving from generic nature references to a personal "Nature & Me" frame. Six experimental studies showed that prompting guests to consider their own relationship with the natural environment consistently increased sustainable choices compared with traditional green imagery or broad "save the planet" appeals. The insight can be applied at virtually no cost by re‑wording existing signage, in‑room cards, emails and staff scripts. Luxury operators stand to boost both eco‑behaviour and brand equity through this identity‑based approach.
