Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen will debut on the Nintendo eShop on Pokémon Day, February 27, 2026. The titles are faithful ports of the original Game Boy Advance releases, with connectivity shifted to the Switch’s built‑in local wireless and GameChat features. No Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required, and the games will be sold exclusively as digital downloads in three language variants for the Americas. Physical copies are not planned, and online multiplayer is omitted in favor of local wireless trading and battling.
