
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has cleared Constellation Developments’ acquisition of ABVR Holdings (Aston Barclay) through its British Car Auctions (BCA) business after a phase‑2 inquiry. BCA is the UK’s largest B2B used‑vehicle auction provider, while Aston Barclay ranks third. The inquiry concluded that without the deal Aston Barclay would likely close, removing its competitive pressure on BCA. Consequently, the merger was deemed not to substantially reduce market competition.
