Oversonic Robotics Announces Strategic Partnership with NantWorks and Opens New Los Angeles Office
Opening of a new Los Angeles hub to coordinate healthcare machines development and support expansion into the U.S. healthcare market • Technology partnership to accelerate R&D in medical and aerospace sectors, developing innovative and reliable cognitive robotic solutions
Milan, January 15, 2026 – Oversonic Robotics, an Italian company specialized in cognitive humanoid robotics, today announced a strategic partnership in the United States with NantWorks, alongside the opening of a new Los Angeles office. The announcement was made during the inaugural U.S.–Saudi Biotech Alliance Summit, held in conjunction with the 44th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco.
This agreement marks an important step in the company’s international expansion. The collaboration brings together Oversonic’s technological excellence with NantWorks’ unique expertise in the medical and aerospace sectors, strengthening the company’s ability to develop advanced cognitive robotic solutions for industrial and healthcare applications.
The partnership with NantWorks will allow Oversonic to accelerate research and development in both medical and aerospace sectors, consolidating the integration of cognitive robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation in real‑world environments. In the medical field, the collaboration focuses on developing safe and reliable robotic platforms for hospitals and healthcare facilities, and thanks to the partnership, Oversonic’s first cognitive humanoid robots will be brought into U.S. clinics in the coming months to begin clinical trials and test the machines in interaction with patients.
In the aerospace sector, the aim is to apply Oversonic’s technological platforms for space environments, enabling advanced robotic solutions for exploration and infrastructure support, with a primary focus on lunar missions. The initial target includes projects related to lunar exploration and infrastructure development, particularly in support of future activities in the lunar South Pole area and the Lunar Gateway, the new orbiting space station.
The agreement also reinforces Oversonic’s presence in the U.S. market, with the opening of a new Los Angeles office of 5,000 square feet (≈ 500 m²) on Mariposa Avenue (El Segundo, California). The facility will serve as a hub for the technological development of medical machines, as well as for coordinating expansion across the country, following a strategic approach based on technological alliances and industrial coalitions.
“This partnership represents a decisive step in our international growth strategy and confirms our vision to transform cognitive robotics into concrete, innovative solutions that generate real value in the industrial and medical sectors,” says Fabio Puglia, Chairman of Oversonic. “This technological alliance with Dr. Patrick Soon‑Shiong is also based on the joint development and shared use of highly advanced proprietary intellectual property. By combining Oversonic’s platforms with disruptive IP already developed and made available through this collaboration, we will accelerate innovation and bring new high‑technology capabilities to market in the coming months.”
“Oversonic’s participation in the Inaugural U.S.–Saudi Biotech Alliance Summit marks, from the very beginning of the year, the second key milestone in our growth journey in the United States after CES in Vegas,” says Paolo Denti, CEO of Oversonic. “Being part of high‑level international forums like this reinforces our global positioning and demonstrates our commitment to shaping the future of robotics and artificial intelligence in healthcare. This partnership opens American market opportunities, with the brand‑new office in Los Angeles. Within a few months, we will be able to bring the first humanoids into U.S. clinics, where we will start clinical trials and test the machines directly in interaction with patients.”
Oversonic Robotics is an Italian company that designs and manufactures cognitive humanoid robots such as RoBee – the only humanoid robot certified for use in both industrial and healthcare sectors. RoBee is already operational in several Italian companies and engaged in experimental programs within hospitals. Founded in 2020 in Besana Brianza (MB – Lombardy), the company established its technological and production center in Carate Brianza (MB) and now operates from two additional locations: a representative office in Milan and an operational site in Rovereto (Trento – Trentino), within the Mechatronic Hub of Trentino Sviluppo. Oversonic employs a team of 65 professionals, including around thirty engineers specialized in computer science, mechanical, and electronic engineering, coming from various parts of the world. With a natural international outlook, the company nonetheless maintains a strong Italian identity, bringing to market products whose creativity and ingenuity are representative of Italian entrepreneurship and technological know‑how. In CB Insights’ 2024 “Tech Trends” report, Oversonic was named among the 13 “Leading Public Players in Humanoid Robotics” worldwide for the industrial sector. In 2024, the company was also included in LinkedIn’s Top Startups list, further consolidating its position among the most prominent innovative companies.
