The trailer introduces the second season of National Geographic’s "Tucci in Italy," where actor‑chef Stanley Tucci returns to the peninsula to wander its kitchens, markets, and landscapes. The series frames each episode as a culinary road‑trip, pairing iconic dishes with the people who make them and the scenery that shapes them.

Tucci emphasizes contrast—sun‑kissed coasts versus crisp mountain valleys—to illustrate Italy’s regional diversity. He uses food as a conversational tool, noting that “the sound of cooking” is music and that tasting herbs together can feel like an aphrodisiac. Light‑hearted banter with chefs, from cutting techniques to playful toasts, underscores authentic hospitality.

Memorable lines such as “I love the sound of cooking” and “food as a window into your conversations” punctuate the footage, while scenes of shared meals and spontaneous laughter convey a sense of intimacy. The trailer hints at visits to historic eateries, mountain farms, and seaside trattorias, promising viewers a sensory immersion.

For audiences, the series offers more than recipes; it spotlights regional economies, encourages culinary tourism, and reinforces National Geographic’s brand of storytelling that blends culture, travel, and gastronomy.

Original Description

Stanley Tucci believes that the best way to understand what makes a country unique is through its food. Nowhere is this truer than in Italy, where even the shape of the pasta and the sauce served with it can speak directly to identity and sharply differentiate each region. He is returning to visit five new regions, including one he’s never featured before, Le Marche, with many culinary delights that have escaped the attention of international tourists. In Campania, and its famed capital of Naples, he celebrates a once-forgotten vine grape, and in Veneto, he deliciously wades into the controversy over the origins of tiramisu. Stanley also visits two very different Islands: Sardinia, where he explores the relationship between food and longevity, and Sicily, where a multicultural history has left a delicious mark on its cuisine.
