U.S. Depletes Half Its THAAD Stock Defending Israel
“The U.S. military has depleted much of its inventory of advanced missile-defense interceptors after expending far more high-end munitions defending Israel amid hostilities with Iran than Israeli forces used themselves, according to Defense Department assessments described to The Washington Post. … The United States launched more than 200 Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD, interceptors in defense of Israel — roughly half of the Pentagon’s total inventory — along with more than 100 Standard Missile-3 and Standard Missile-6 interceptors fired from naval vessels in the eastern Mediterranean, said the U.S. officials, who, like others in this article, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive security matters. By contrast, Israel fired fewer than 100 of its Arrow interceptors and around 90 David’s Sling interceptors, some of which were used against less sophisticated projectiles fired by Iran-backed groups in Yemen and Lebanon.”
Rigid Tactics Cripple Russia's R-37M/Su-35S Effectiveness
Russia pairs R-37M with Su-35S but rigid flight patterns, predictable airfields/routes & restrictive command-and-control authorisation requirements limit Russian air combat effectiveness. https://t.co/gxgwagC62I
Russian Advance Stalls; 30‑year Timeline to Capture Donbas
‘After making gains late last year, the Russian military has slowed to a crawl. In some parts of Ukraine, it has lost territory. At its average monthly rate of advance so far this year, it would take Russia more than...
Russia's Urbanicide Playbook: Encircle, Terrorize, Raze, Claim Victory
Russia's urbanicide 'playbook': cut off access by encircling Kramatorsk & Sloviansk, slowly establish drone & artillery fire control, terrorize the population to leave, force Ukrainian forces to withdraw, & turn the city into rubble -- then call it victory.
30-500 Km Range Beats Deep‑strike for Baltic Deterrence
When it comes to conventional deterrence by denial & ground-based precision strike, I think the 30km to 500km band is more relevant in the years ahead than deep-strike capabilities beyond that, if one looks at the geography of the Baltics...
Low‑cost Propeller Counter‑drone Systems Losing Appeal
„The entire concept of low-cost, counter-drone defense based on propeller-driven systems no longer looks as promising as it did two to three years ago.“ https://t.co/GLf73lHc5a
MDTF: Enabler, Not Strike Unit, Focuses on Non‑Kinetic Support
Spent some time researching the Multi-Domain Task Force concept for a book project, and want to emphasize one thing: The MDTF’s doctrinal target set in the European Theater is the Russian reconnaissance-strike complex / reconnaissance-fire complex, and the operational-strategic forces...

Navy, Air Force Cover MDTF Gap, Sensor Fusion Lags
Quick note on the supposed capability gap from the Trump administration halting the planned MDTF long-range fires battalion deployment to Germany: the US Navy and Air Force can partially substitute: carrier strike groups with Tomahawk-armed destroyers and subs, B-52s and...
Pentagon to Pull 5,000 Troops From Germany
Given time window I assume rotational 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division & Long-Range Fires Battalion of 2nd Multi-Domain Task Force (3rd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment).
Precision Warfare Widening Gap, Complicating War Termination
One issue I see here is that the perception of a transparent battlespace (IMO semi-transparent at best) paired with the notion of accelerated kill-chains is a further widening of the technical and tactical levels of warfare from the operational and...
US Ammo Shortage May Coincide with Russian Peak Power
Depleted U.S. precision munition stockpiles—and the 4–5 years required to replenish them—could coincide with a period of relatively peak Russian military power vis-à-vis NATO under a scenario in which a tenuous 2027 ceasefire in Ukraine frees Russian forces to reconstitute...
US Depletes Half Its Missile Stockpiles in Weeks
‘Over the last seven weeks of war, the US military has expended at least 45% of its stockpile of Precision Strike Missiles; at least half of its inventory of THAAD missiles, which are designed to intercept ballistic missiles; and nearly...
Layered Defence Uses Cheap Assets to Soak Attacks
“Layered defence is essential,” said Eugene Lesin, a deputy company commander in the “Darknode” UAV interceptor unit. “Lower-cost systems — machine guns, anti-aircraft artillery, interceptor drones and electronic warfare — absorb the bulk of the attack. High-end systems such as...
Iran Studies Ukraine's Drone Tactics, Upgrades Cyber Warfare
‚The articles reveal Iran has closely studied Ukraine for lessons, especially about drones, has been focused on modernising its cyberwarfare assets, and is worried about its forces’ forward planning. They show Tehran has closely watched Russian performance as well as...
Russia Ramps up Iskander Production; Ukraine Short on Patriots
‚Moscow is producing about 60 Iskander missiles a month and has expanded its launcher capacity, while Ukraine lacks sufficient advanced air-defence systems such as the US-made Patriot system to cover the entire country, Skibitskyi said.‘https://t.co/WIW5QJXwlb
