New Ventures Need Different Milestones, Not Core Metrics
When an established company launches a new venture, it typically applies the same metrics it uses for its core business. Revenue targets, forecast accuracy, and broad sales coverage. Those metrics work well in mature markets. In an emerging category, they can act as millstones. They drive teams toward small, scattered deals and early expansion before any defensible position has formed. Milestones are different. They signal increasing market power. -A visionary customer who stretches the technology and makes its value visible. -Clear leadership in a single use case within a single industry. -Referenceability that influences buying behavior inside that segment. None of this guarantees success. But confusing millstones for milestones reliably slows progress. https://lnkd.in/grFGi9Jx #Innovation #leadership
Generative vs Agentic AI: Different Impacts on Enterprise Strategy
Generative AI amplifies human knowledge work. Agentic AI removes humans from transaction systems. One strengthens cognition. The other restructures execution. If you are placing enterprise bets, the distinction matters. https://lnkd.in/gGQTRfsr #AI #SaaS
AI Builds Apps, Experience Drives Real Insight
Enterprise software companies compete on accumulated operational insight. That embedded knowledge compounds over time. AI can generate applications. Institutional learning still requires experience in the field. https://lnkd.in/gef6zQ7u #AI
Customers Pay for Best Practices, Not Just Code
This is a quick question with an equally quick answer— nothing. It’s just like what happened to the movie industry when the camcorder came out. Why? It’s not the camera, it’s where you point it. Traditional software companies do not...
Keep Core Systems, Use AI to Reduce Friction
There is a strategic difference between creating advantage and assuming responsibility. Mission-critical systems of record are designed to manage compliance, auditability, and operational consistency across industries. Replacing them with AI-built alternatives transfers that responsibility to internal teams for the life...
Agentic AI Needs Integrated Systems, Not Just Productivity Gains
Agentic AI has not yet crossed the chasm, but it is beginning to test where a crossing might actually hold. In a thoughtful piece for diginomica , Stuart Lauchlan explores where agentic AI sits on the adoption curve, what is...
Core Capabilities Keep SaaS Valuable Amid AI Disruption

Leadership Risk: Balancing Fast Innovation with Slow Adoption
Why does innovation move fast while adoption crawls? Because transformation forces leaders to redirect capital, talent, and attention away from what still works toward what is not yet proven. That tension defines the messy middle. This conversation with Tina Vatanka...
Early Traction ≠ Market Acceptance in GenAI
Early traction does not equal market acceptance. That distinction matters even more with GenAI. Join me on Jan 27, 2026, 1:00 PM PT in this discussion focusing on how pragmatist buyers evaluate new technology, why the chasm still applies, and...
AI Success Demands Discipline, Execution, and Measurable Results
AI adoption now hinges on disciplined execution and measurable outcomes. This SVEN (Silicon Valley Executive Network) session brings together leaders across building, implementing, and investing to focus on what drives real results. #AI #strategy Brian Reynard
AI Accelerates Decisions; Clear Leadership Prevents Costly Ambiguity
AI compresses decision timelines. Ambiguity around ownership, priorities, and tradeoffs becomes expensive quickly once AI touches core processes. Strong leadership shows up through clear calls, visible accountability, and sustained focus. Those signals shape how teams engage and how fast progress...
Measure AI Progress to Accelerate Adoption and Impact
AI projects lose momentum when progress feels abstract. Concrete measures change that dynamic. Timelines sharpen. Adoption becomes visible. Competitive impact shows up in ways leaders can act on. Measurement creates forward motion because it turns effort into evidence and discussion...
Use V2MOM to Unlock AI’s Trapped Value
A lot has been said about the lack of ROI from the first wave of AI projects. Let’s be generous and call those efforts experiments. Now it is 2026, AI is more powerful than it has ever been, and there...
Agentic AI Turns Workflow Bottlenecks Into Speed
Complex deals move at the speed of their slowest workflow. One approval pauses another. One review delays the next step. Momentum fades quietly. Agentic AI introduces a new execution tempo when each step becomes computationally accessible. Velocity shifts from constraint...
Generative AI Enables Natural Language Buying Intent
The front end of commerce resists automation because understanding forms before decisions. Generative AI changes that dynamic. 1. Buyers express intent in natural language 2. Discovery unfolds through open questioning 3. Alignment forms before commitment This is how intelligence reshapes...
Agentic AI Unlocks Trapped Value, Demands Immediate Investment
Customers everywhere are signaling the same message. Their needs have outgrown the systems designed to serve them. Wait times increase. Outcomes suffer. Growth stalls. That is trapped value. Agentic AI provides a release. The question is whether leaders will invest...
