Obesity/lipid specialist physician; clear, evidence-based takes on nutrition, GLP-1s, supplements, and behavior change.
New GLP-1 pill approved Foundayo (orfoglipron). Not as much weight loss as oral wegovy but no issues with food or more liquid around taking it. Same price. Not April fools joke.

It’s not easy, but it’s simple. Nothing new here but this is how to do it. Some people’s dis regulated hunger makes this simple thing very hard to do. That’s where GLP1s come in. Keep at it ❤️

The current meds help people eat fewer calories. That’s how they work for weight loss (yes they have weight independent effects like CVD reduction). The next frontier is helping burn more calories.
If you use the terminology “GLP-3” instead of GLP-1/GIP/Glucagon receptor agonist or at least triple agonist, I’m going to assume you don’t know much about these medicines.
- fewer heart attacks - less liver disease - less kidney disease - less obstructive sleep apnea - less knee pain in osteoarthritis - improved psoriasis - fewer alcoholic beverages consumed - potentially more years lived
The “root cause” is a dysregulated appetite with a terrible environment. The GLP-1 normalizes the dysregulated appetite and allows for navigation of the environment.

People didn’t lose weight in 1900. They were just thinner. Obesity was prevented. Losing weight isn’t the same thing as preventing it. Losing weight with lifestyle alone unfortunately isn’t effective for the majority of people.
