Sophos’ Raja Patel at Tomorrow’s Titans on Helping Small Businesses Stay Safe
Why It Matters
The strategy aims to scale CISO-grade security to millions of underprotected businesses through automation and MSP partners, addressing a global talent shortfall while preparing customers for rising AI-driven threats.
Summary
Sophos executive Raja Patel said the company is tackling a “cybersecurity poverty line” for small and mid-sized businesses by emphasizing prevention-first endpoint, network and email protections paired with managed detect-and-response services. Sophos’s acquisition of Arco Cyber will add automated lifecycle management—compliance scans, health scorecards and governance—to its platform so MSPs can push-button assess and remediate clients. The Secureworks integration accelerated Sophos’s XDR and identity-detection roadmap, enabling those capabilities to be rolled out to its 600,000 customers. Patel also warned that AI/agentic tools will both bolster defenses and enable more sophisticated attacks, so visibility and controls will become central.
