Robinson Helicopter Company has created Robinson Unmanned, a dedicated unit that blends its legacy R44 and R66 helicopter platforms with autonomous technology from Rotor Technologies and Sikorsky. The division incorporates Ascent AeroSystems’ coaxial small UAS and adds larger, Group 3‑4 unmanned aircraft for cargo, surveillance, agriculture and defense logistics. Led by Ascent president Paul Fermo, the unit promises high‑volume, modular, open‑system vertical lift solutions that can scale from single‑aircraft missions to coordinated swarms.
