Why It Matters

The partnership gives telcos a financially viable path to monetize their edge infrastructure and compete with hyperscale cloud AI providers, accelerating the rollout of AI‑native 6G networks while complying with strict data‑residency regulations.

Summary

Lanner Electronics and Personal AI announced a strategic partnership at NVIDIA GTC DC to deliver a turnkey edge‑AI platform for telecom operators, pairing Lanner’s NVIDIA‑MGX‑certified ECA‑6051 server (up to 144 Xeon cores, three L40S GPUs, 1 TB DDR5 memory and NEBS Level 3 certification) with Personal AI’s Small Language Model (SLM) technology. The solution is designed for AI‑RAN and future 6G networks, enabling telcos to run SLMs of 100 M‑2 B parameters at near‑edge sites with sub‑800 ms latency and to offer AI services to over 350 million U.S. subscribers. Personal AI claims the SLMs deliver more than 20‑fold cost efficiency versus traditional large language models, supporting gross margins of roughly 90 % for AI‑driven services. The architecture also keeps data on‑premise, addressing privacy, security and data‑sovereignty requirements for regulated telecom environments.
