The partnership accelerates Europe’s ability to protect ground forces from the growing UAV threat, shaping the continent’s C‑UAS market and defence standards.
The rapid proliferation of commercial and tactical drones has forced militaries to rethink traditional force protection. Europe, in particular, faces a gap between legacy land platforms and the need for agile, on‑board counter‑UAV capabilities. By pairing KNDS’s extensive experience in armored vehicle design with TYTAN’s Interceptor‑S system, the alliance creates a modular, vehicle‑mounted solution that can be retrofitted across existing fleets, reducing integration costs while enhancing survivability.
Beyond the Boxer RCT30, the MoU outlines a joint effort to craft a European‑wide standard for mobile uncrewed‑air‑system launch and engagement. Standardisation promises interoperability among NATO allies, streamlines procurement, and opens pathways for smaller defence firms to contribute components. The initiative also signals a shift toward integrated C‑UAS suites that protect not only combat vehicles but also forward operating bases and critical infrastructure, expanding the market beyond traditional battlefield applications.
Looking ahead, the KNDS‑TYTAN collaboration could set a benchmark for future defence‑industry partnerships, where digitalisation and rapid prototyping accelerate fielding of advanced technologies. Export potential is significant, as allied nations seek ready‑to‑deploy drone‑defence kits compatible with their own land systems. Moreover, the joint development of standards may influence policy discussions within the European Defence Agency, reinforcing Europe’s strategic autonomy in counter‑drone capabilities. This synergy exemplifies how agile innovators can drive large‑scale, mission‑critical solutions in a fast‑evolving threat environment.

KNDS and TYTAN Technologies have formalised an expanded partnership to further develop drone‑defence solutions for military land systems. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 6 February 2026 in the presence of Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche.
The agreement was signed by TYTAN CEO and co‑founder Balázs Nagy and KNDS digitalisation executive vice president Mathias Nöhl.
This collaboration follows the integration of TYTAN’s Interceptor‑S counter‑drone system into the compartment box of the KNDS Boxer RCT30 vehicle. The combined system underwent demonstrations during the Bundeswehr’s Experimentalserie Land held in Munster and Bergen in autumn 2025.
With this new agreement, KNDS and TYTAN aim to deliver integrated solutions to protect land‑system platforms and their crews from unmanned aerial threats through the latter’s counter‑drone‑on‑drone technology.
The extended cooperation will also include joint development of a European standard for mobile uncrewed aerial systems launch solutions, as well as further progress in counter‑uncrewed aircraft systems technologies with applications in military base protection and frontline air defence.
Balázs Nagy said: “Two companies with a clear track record of battle‑proven systems are joining forces to set the standard in C‑UAS systems. We strongly believe in the synergy of innovation at scale in partnership with a strong industrial partner.”
KNDS and TYTAN began their cooperation in 2025. According to KNDS, its international operations and experience with land systems are combined with TYTAN’s work in counter‑uncrewed aircraft systems and drone‑on‑drone air defence.
Mathias Nöhl said: “As a leading European provider of land systems, we are convinced that agile and innovative companies like TYTAN and KNDS are an ideal fit to drive the integration of new, innovative solutions and offer soldiers the best possible systems.”
