Hallador to Buy Siemens Turbines From EWC for $350m
Hallador Energy signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire roughly 460 MW of Siemens gas turbines, generators, a steam turbine and ancillary equipment from Energy World Corporation for $350 million, plus $100 million for transport, refurbishment and delivery. The total delivered cost of $450 million represents more than half of the projected budget for the Merom simple‑cycle, natural‑gas‑fired project. Hallador plans a final investment decision in September 2026 after completing the MISO Expedited Resource Addition Study, with revenue expected between late 2028 and mid 2029. The deal secures existing equipment amid tight turbine supply and long lead times.
