Why It Matters

By equipping operators with proactive diagnostics and remediation, Corteca can reduce customer friction and support costs while improving retention and perceived service quality. Proactive, AI‑driven home network management addresses a longstanding blind spot for ISPs and could differentiate their consumer broadband offerings.

Summary

At Fiber Connect, Nokia showcased Corteca AI, a platform designed to give broadband operators real‑time visibility into in‑home Wi‑Fi performance. The system surfaces device‑level insights for care agents, pinpoints weak signal or dropped clients, and recommends fixes so support teams can resolve issues quickly. Corteca also detects potential service degradations proactively and enables automated or operator‑driven remediation before users notice problems. The overall aim is to make home networks more autonomous and self‑healing.

Original Description

Why do Wi-Fi issues persist even as broadband networks improve? Many operators are finding that customer experience issues increasingly originate inside the home. Wi-Fi performance problems remain difficult to diagnose and costly to support, largely because operators have limited visibility into what is happening beyond the network edge. That challenge is pushing the industry to rethink how in-home networks are monitored and managed.
Nokia’s Vimal Kothandaraman, Vice President of Broadband Devices, said greater insight into the home environment is essential for improving support outcomes. AI-based tools can surface detailed information about device behavior, signal quality and performance degradation, allowing care agents to identify issues faster and resolve them on the first call. Over time, those same insights can be used to detect early signs of service degradation and trigger corrective actions before customers notice a problem. The goal is a more autonomous home Wi-Fi network that can recover from issues without repeated customer intervention, reducing support costs while improving consistency of service.
