The contract underscores rising demand for offshore wind O&M services and validates Cadeler’s strategy to monetize fleet capacity, signaling robust market expansion in the region.
The offshore wind sector is entering a new phase where operations and maintenance (O&M) revenue streams are becoming as critical as turbine installation. As turbine sizes climb to 10‑15 MW, the complexity and frequency of service visits increase, driving operators to seek specialized partners with proven fleet capabilities. This shift is especially pronounced in Asia‑Pacific, where governments are accelerating offshore wind targets, creating a burgeoning aftermarket that can sustain long‑term profitability beyond the construction boom.
Nexra’s recent win illustrates how parent company Cadeler is leveraging its vessel assets to capture this emerging value. By deploying the Wind Maker vessel—a versatile installation platform—Nexra can deliver rapid, high‑quality O&M services while keeping the fleet operating at optimal utilisation rates. The contract’s €20 million price tag, though undisclosed in client identity, signals that clients are willing to pay a premium for reliability and technical expertise, reinforcing Cadeler’s decision to spin off Nexra in 2025 to focus on long‑term service relationships.
For the broader market, the deal signals confidence in the Asia‑Pacific offshore wind supply chain and may accelerate similar O&M contracts across the region. Investors and developers will watch how Nexra scales its service portfolio, including vessels like Zaratan, Wind Scylla, and Wind Keeper, to meet diverse project needs. As the aftermarket matures, companies that can combine fleet flexibility with deep technical knowledge are poised to capture a larger share of the growing revenue pool, shaping the competitive landscape for the next decade.

Nexra has signed a firm contract to execute an operations and maintenance (O&M) campaign across two offshore wind farms in Taiwan.
Cadeler said the deal, with an undisclosed client, has an expected value of more than €20 million and will run from March 2026 for three to four months using the Wind Maker installation vessel.
According to Cadeler, the campaign will be delivered by Nexra, its dedicated O&M service concept launched last year to support projects throughout their operational lifetime.
“This contract underlines Nexra’s strength in execution and flexibility to respond quickly to client needs in the operational phase of offshore wind farms,” said Mikkel Gleerup, chief executive of Cadeler.
“In securing near‑term campaigns such as this, Nexra demonstrates its ability to drive utilisation across Cadeler’s fleet, while continuing to deliver the reliability and technical expertise our clients expect,” he added.
The company said O&M activities accounted for about one‑fifth of its revenue in 2025, reflecting the growing importance of the aftermarket as newer 10–15 MW turbines enter operation.
Cadeler noted it established Nexra in 2025 to strengthen long‑term client relationships and expand service and maintenance capability.
Nexra’s portfolio includes Zaratan, Wind Scylla and Wind Keeper, with flexibility to use additional vessels when required.
“Being entrusted with O&M work in the Asia‑Pacific region reflects the confidence placed in our local teams and our assets,” Gleerup stated.
