This visual showcase not only teases mechanics but also underscores the studio’s commitment to high production values, a factor that can differentiate indie projects in an increasingly competitive market.

Casting choices further elevate Emberville’s profile. Bringing in Abubakar Salim—renowned for his work on Assassin’s Creed Origins—adds star power that can attract a broader audience, while Alex Jordan’s dual role as performer and performance director suggests a focus on nuanced character animation. Veteran voice actor Doug Cockle’s involvement reinforces the game’s credibility, indicating that the studio is investing in top‑tier talent to deliver a compelling auditory experience, a critical component for immersive RPGs.

Emberville’s Early Access launch on Steam this summer aligns with current industry trends favoring community‑driven development cycles. Early Access allows developers to refine gameplay based on player feedback, potentially reducing launch risk and fostering a dedicated fan base. For investors and gamers alike, the combination of innovative design, a strong voice cast, and a strategic release plan suggests Emberville could become a noteworthy entry in the upcoming summer slate, setting a benchmark for future indie RPG endeavors.

Emberville – Convergence Games Showcase ’26 trailer

By Sal Romano · Feb 19 2026 · 3:33 PM EST

Cygnus Cross has released a new trailer for the action‑adventure‑RPG Emberville, showcasing fresh gameplay footage and announcing the latest addition to the game’s voice cast.

Abubakar Salim, who previously voiced Bayek of Siwa in Assassin’s Creed Origins and portrayed Alyn of Hull in House of the Dragon, is the newest member of the cast.

“I look for projects that take risks, and Emberville is absolutely pushing the envelope,” said Salim in a press release. “Seeing how this team is deconstructing the genre is inspiring, and doing it with such intellect and intent is awesome.”

Previously confirmed as a core cast member, Alex Jordan will also serve as the game’s performance director.

“The thing that really makes any project stand out to me is the developers themselves, the people at the core of it all,” said Jordan. “You can have the best concept in the world, but if the team isn’t utterly devoted and approaching it with a level of detail and nuance, the result will always be mediocre. Cygnus Cross showed me that not only is Emberville an incredibly cool idea, but they also have that detail and nuance in overflowing abundance. Their care and commitment to creating something with legacy and quality for their players is what truly makes me excited about Emberville. Oh, and I lied to Doug [Cockle] about him getting sausages to help get the deal across the line… don’t tell him.”

Previously revealed cast member Doug Cockle added, “The passion, skill, and experience going into the development of this game is phenomenal. I’m always attracted to projects where the team has a clear goal in mind, and the drive and knowledge to reach for it, especially when that goal pushes boundaries. That’s exciting to be part of. Plus, they told me there would be small sausages. I like small sausages.”

Emberville is due out in Early Access for PC via Steam this summer.
